HEG Gets Major Relief: ₹282 Crore GST Notice Dropped for FY 2019-20

•Graphite electrode maker HEG Ltd received a significant relief as the GST authority dropped a show cause notice for FY 2019-20.
•The notice involved a proposed recovery of IGST refunds and a penalty amounting to ₹282.34 crore.
•The order was issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of State Tax, Mandideep Circle, Bhopal Division-2, Madhya Pradesh.
•Proceedings for FY 2019-20, initiated under Section 74 of the MPGST Act, 2017, have been closed.
•HEG recently reported strong Q3 results with revenue up 37% YoY and profit after tax surging 148% YoY.
