Polycab India slapped with ₹327 Cr tax demand; firm to challenge, cites errors

Polycab India received an income tax demand of ₹327.45 crore for Assessment Year 2024-25 (FY 2023-24).
•
The demand stems from an assessment order by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, Mumbai, including ₹41.87 crore in disallowances.
•
The company believes the demand is due to computational or clerical errors and will seek rectification and file an appeal.
•
Polycab asserts the tax demand is not sustainable in law and expects no material impact on its financial position or operations.

Shares of Polycab India Ltd closed down 3.20% on BSE following the news.
