•Central government increases Minimum Support Price (MSP) for raw jute (TD-3 grade) by Rs 275 per quintal.
•New MSP set at Rs 5,925 per quintal for marketing season 2026-27, approved by Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs.
•The new MSP is 61.8% higher than the average cost of production, ensuring significant profit for farmers.
•MSP for raw jute has increased by Rs 3,525 per quintal since 2014-15, reflecting government's focus on farmer income.
•Jute Corporation of India (JCI) will handle price support operations; West Bengal is the largest producer.
