Bengal Congress Delegation Reaches EC Over SIR, Faces Entry Hurdle

Provincial Congress delegation, led by Subhankar Sarkar, arrived at the National Election Commission office on Thursday.
•
They sought to complain about West Bengal's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
•
The delegation faced entry issues as they did not have a pre-scheduled appointment with the Commission.
•
Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury previously urged CEC Gyanesh Kumar to delay election announcements until the 60 lakh voter list under SIR is finalized.
•
The SIR process, for upcoming state assembly elections, has also drawn protest threats from Trinamool leader Mamata Banerjee.
