•Former Bengal cricketer Shibshankar Paul has joined the Trinamool Congress, becoming the latest sports personality to enter Bengal politics.
•Trinamool sources indicate Paul might be announced as the candidate for Tufanganj, his birthplace, with the candidate list expected today.
•Paul, known as Macko in Bengal cricket, played Ranji for Bengal and was part of the Indian squad for a Test series in Australia.
