Katwa Women Empowered: Sewing Training Opens Doors to Employment
•West Bengal government's 'Utkarsha Bangla' project, Katwa Municipality, and a voluntary organization launch a sewing training program for women in Katwa.
•The 'Garment Maker' course aims to provide employment opportunities and self-reliance for unemployed and financially disadvantaged women.
•The 390-hour (approx. 4-month) training covers basic to advanced garment making, including children's wear, frocks, kurtis, and churidars.
•Participants will receive government-recognized certificates, with efforts to secure jobs in manufacturing units and work-from-home opportunities.
•Katwa Municipality plans to provide sewing machines, and Medhabi Foundation will arrange jobs for successful trainees.
