EPFO maintains 8.25% interest rate for 2025-26; approves auto claim for inactive accounts

•EPFO keeps EPF interest rate at 8.25% for 2025-26 financial year, unchanged for the second consecutive year.
•Decision made at the 239th Central Board of Trustees (CBT) meeting, presided over by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya.
•CBT approved a pilot project for automatic claim settlement of inactive EPF accounts with balances up to 1,000 rupees.
•This initiative covers over 1.33 lakh accounts, totaling approximately 5.68 crore rupees, simplifying processes.
•The recommended rate will be sent to the Ministry of Finance for approval before crediting to 7 crore subscribers.
