Mizoram's 'Bana Kaih' Scheme: 5,000+ Loan Applications Received, 176 Approved

•Over 5,000 people applied for loans under Mizoram's flagship 'Bana Kaih' (handholding) scheme, Minister F Rodingliana informed the Assembly.
•To date, 176 applications have been approved for credit, with Rs 6.84 crore disbursed to 91 beneficiaries by partner banks.
•Launched by CM Lalduhoma, the scheme facilitates loans up to Rs 50 lakh, with the government acting as a guarantor.
•Beneficiaries receive up to 100% interest subvention for timely loan repayment and grants up to Rs 50,000 under a special category.
•The scheme includes market support with Minimum Support Price (MSP) for five key local crops and has Rs 350 crore allocated for 2026-27.
