77-Year-Old Pune Man Arrested for Opium Cultivation in Hinjawadi Field

•A 77-year-old farmer, Sampat Baburao Darshile, was arrested in Jambe village, Hinjawadi, for illegally cultivating opium.
•The Pimpri-Chinchwad Anti-Goonda Squad raided his farm near Shalimkar Sports Arena on Friday evening.
•Police seized 16 kg 810 grams of green opium plants, which have a high market value.
•Cultivating opium without a license is a serious offense under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act).
•A case has been registered at Hinjawadi Police Station, and an investigation is underway to determine the intended buyers.
