Pune Cop Loses ₹71,000 to Free TV Channel Scam After One Click

A 44-year-old Pune Police constable was defrauded of ₹71,000 after clicking on a fake 'free TV channels' advertisement on Instagram.
•
The incident occurred on December 11 when the constable clicked a link promising free channels on Android TV, causing his phone to hang.
•
The next day, while shopping at D-Mart, he discovered unauthorized debits of ₹41,000 and ₹30,000 from his bank account.
•
The money was transferred to an account belonging to Yashraj Bairagi from Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh.
•
Police urge caution against unknown links, even for educated individuals and government employees, as investigations continue.
