A magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck near Bandar Abbas in southern Iran on Saturday, March 7, at 8:48 am (IST).

The tremor originated 74 kilometers west of Bandar Abbas in Hormozgan province at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers.
•
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported the seismic event.
•
Despite the shallow depth, there were no immediate reports of significant damage or casualties.
•
This follows a magnitude 4.3 earthquake that hit Gerash in Iran's Fars province earlier on Tuesday.
