UAE arrests 35, including 19 Indians, over misleading social media posts

Attorney-General Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shams stated the action follows rigorous monitoring to combat fabricated information and incite public disorder.

Defendants were grouped for publishing authentic clips with inciting commentary, AI-fabricated content, and glorifying a hostile state.

Such offenses are punishable by imprisonment of at least one year and a fine of no less than AED 100,000, aimed at undermining national security.
