•An eight-year-old boy died after accidentally falling into a water-filled construction pit in Mumbai's Malad (East) area.
•The incident occurred on Thursday night when the child was reportedly trying to retrieve a ball.
•Local police rescued the boy and rushed him to a civic-run hospital in Kandivali.
•Doctors declared him dead on arrival.
•The deceased was identified as Divyansh Rajesh Mourya.
