Delhi's Current Excise Policy Extended Beyond March 31

Delhi government likely to extend current excise regime for FY 2026-27 as new policy is still under development.
•
The duty-based excise policy, in effect since 2022-23, was previously extended until March 31, 2026.
•
Excise department has proposed a further extension of the existing policy.
•
The current policy has been in place since 2023-24, following the scrapping of the 2021-22 policy due to alleged irregularities.
•
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta instructed officials to draft a new policy focusing on quality liquor supply and transparency.
