Ex-President Rajapaksa Accused of LKR 60 Million Bribe in Airbus Deal

•Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa allegedly received LKR 60 million bribe in the 2017 Airbus case.
•Kapila Chandrasena, former CEO of the national carrier and chief accused, made the claim in a Sri Lankan court.
•Chandrasena stated Rajapaksa received LKR 20 million on three occasions in 2015 at his country homes.
•Former Aviation Minister Priyankara Jayarathna was also implicated in receiving a share of the bribe.
•The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) revived the case under new 2024 anti-corruption laws.
