Kanpur Police Busts Rs 250 Cr GST Fraud Racket; Two Arrested

•Kanpur police unearthed an organised GST fraud racket involving transactions worth nearly Rs 250 crore.
•Accused used identity documents of poor individuals, luring them with loan promises, to float fake firms and commit Input Tax Credit (ITC) fraud.
•Two individuals, Kapil Mishra and Amardeep alias Raj, arrested; five others absconding in the inter-state tax evasion network.
•Victims include e-rickshaw drivers, students, and economically weaker persons whose IDs were misused to register 38 identified shell companies.
•Police recovered 30 mobile phones, fake SIM cards, and froze Rs 1.5 crore; investigation ongoing with GST authorities.
