Ashok Leyland Boosts UK Unit Optare Stake to 93.28% with ₹375 Crore Investment

•Ashok Leyland approved an investment of up to GBP 30 million (₹375 crore) in its UK subsidiary Optare Plc.
•The investment will be made through equity in one or more tranches, increasing Ashok Leyland's stake from 93% to 93.28%.
•Optare Plc manufactures and sells buses and commercial vehicles, with consolidated revenue of ₹1,232.59 crore as of March 31, 2025.
•The funds are earmarked for loan repayment and other business requirements, with completion expected by March 31, 2026.
•Optare Plc is also the holding company for Ashok Leyland's electric vehicle initiatives, including Switch Mobility Limited.
