ED attaches ₹23.35 crore assets in Raipur-Visakhapatnam highway compensation scam
•ED provisionally attached movable and immovable assets worth ₹23.35 crore under PMLA in the Raipur-Visakhapatnam National Highway compensation scam.
•The investigation was initiated based on an FIR registered by the Chhattisgarh EOW/ACB against Harmeet Singh Khanuja and other accused.
•Land brokers, private individuals, and government officials conspired to obtain higher and ineligible compensation for acquired land.
•Fraudulent land division and manipulation of revenue records artificially inflated compensation amounts after a January 2020 notification.
•Harmeet Singh Khanuja and associates siphoned off funds from landowners' accounts using pre-signed blank cheques, transferring money to their own entities.
