SBI IMPS Charges Hike: Online Transfers to Get Costlier from Feb 15, 2026
- •State Bank of India (SBI) will introduce service charges on online IMPS transactions exceeding Rs 25,000 starting February 15, 2026.
- •Previously, online IMPS transfers up to Rs 5 lakh were free via internet banking and the YONO app.
- •New charges for online IMPS: Rs 2 + GST for Rs 25,000-Rs 1 lakh; Rs 6 + GST for Rs 1 lakh-Rs 2 lakh; Rs 10 + GST for Rs 2 lakh-Rs 5 lakh.
- •Online IMPS transactions up to Rs 25,000 will remain free, offering relief for smaller transfers.
- •Certain salary package accounts (DSP, PMSP, CGSP, PSP, RSP, etc.) and specific savings accounts (Shaurya Family Pension, SBI Rishta, CSP, SGSP, SUSP) are exempt from these new charges.
