Govt disburses ₹28,748 crore under 14 PLI schemes, boosts domestic manufacturing

•Government disbursed ₹28,748 crore under 14 Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes by December last year.
•PLI schemes, launched in 2021 with an outlay of ₹1.97 lakh crore, aim to boost domestic manufacturing across 14 sectors.
•As of December 2025, 836 applications approved, attracting over ₹2.16 lakh crore investment and generating 14.39 lakh jobs.
•Scheme reduced mobile phone imports by 77% since 2020-21, with over 99% domestic demand met by local production.
•PLI for pharmaceuticals enabled domestic manufacturing of 191 bulk drugs, saving ₹1,785 crore in imports.
