Himachal's Sukhu Govt Takes 1,030 Cr Loan Amidst Economic Crisis

•Himachal Pradesh's Sukhu government has secured a loan of 1,030 crore rupees to address the ongoing economic crisis.
•The Finance Department issued a notification confirming the 20-year loan, starting March 4, 2026, and maturing on March 4, 2046.
•Funds are earmarked for proposed development schemes, infrastructure strengthening, and public welfare programs.
•The state government obtained necessary central government permission under Article 293(3) of the Constitution.
•Himachal's debt has surged from 48,000 crore in 2017 to over 1 lakh crore, with the Sukhu government adding 35,000 crore in 3.5 years.
