ACB Nabs Talathi Office Man in Thane for Rs 5,000 Land Record Bribe

Nilesh Hanuman Pawar (35), working at the talathi office in Ambivali, Kalyan, Thane, was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
•
Pawar was caught red-handed accepting a Rs 5,000 bribe for providing land-related records and forwarding a file to the tehsildar’s office.
•
The accused had demanded the bribe on February 17, 2026, from a landholder seeking certified copies of alteration records.
•
ACB laid a trap after receiving a complaint and arrested Pawar while he was taking the money.
•
Inspector Sharmila Patil of ACB Thane unit confirmed the arrest and ongoing investigation.
